Deacon Damjan Bozic was born on November 14, 1978 ( On Sts. Cosmas and Damjan day, after whom he was named ) to his parents, Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Slavko and Bosiljka Bozic. His father serves as the head priest of St. George's Church in Belgrade since 1978. Deacon Damjan has an older sister and a younger brother. His sister, Snezana, is married to Presbyter Goran Mijailovic who serves as a priest at St. Sava Cathedral on Vracar in Belgrade. His brother, Bojan is a seminary student at Theological Faculty of Belgrade University.

Deacon Damjan attended elementary school as well as music school in his hometown of Belgrade. In the fall of 1993, Damjan enrolled in St. Arenius of Srem Seminary School in Sremski Karlovci. After completing two years he was transferred to seminary school of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Prizren, Kosovo and Metohia. Most of his free time Damjan spent in the Patriarchate of Pech Monastery, visiting his great aunts who serve as nuns. In May of 1998, he graduated with the last class to graduate from the Prizren Seminary, as the war broke out in Kosovo one month later. In September 1999, at the recommendation and by the blessing of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch +PAVLE, Damjan enrolled in the St. Sava School of Theology in Libertyville, Illinois, from which he graduated in June 2003. On August 3, 2003, Damjan married Marnie Susanne Navarro of Libertyville, Illinois. On the feast day of St. John of Rila, August 31, Most Reverend Metropolitan +CHRISTOPHER ordained Damjan to the rank of Deacon. Immediately after ordination he was assigned to Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of Chicago where he serves as director of Christian education and youth minister. In addition to his duties Deacon Damjan is a head archivist for the archives of the Midwestern American Metropolitanate and also manages the St. Bishop Nikolai Resource Center and Bookstore in Libertyville. He is pursuing the MA in Applied Orthodox Theology from Antiochian House of Studies ( St. John of Damascus Faculty of Theology - University of Balamand ) Deacon Damjan's wife, Marnie, is an attorney at Walker Wilcox & Matusek LLP in Chicago and specializes in international insurance litigation.
